Best restaurant HR support services in Massachusetts (2026)
Disclosure: BOHO publishes this list and ranks its own service first.

Who provides HR support for restaurants in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts restaurants can choose from local HR consultancies such as AIM HR Solutions, Melody L. Beach Consulting and Ross Insight Solutions, restaurant-only HR firms that work remotely such as Empowered Hospitality and Restaurant HR Group, or an administration service such as BOHO. Local consultancies rarely specialize in restaurants, and restaurant-only firms are based out of state.
About this list: BOHO wrote it and put its own service first, so read entry 1 with that in mind. Every other entry is a real company we checked on its own website on . None of them paid to be here or knows it is listed, and nothing on this page is a rating.
Massachusetts restaurants have plenty of HR help to choose from, but very little of it is built for restaurants. Most local HR consultancies serve every kind of employer. Most restaurant-only HR firms are based out of state. Knowing that up front makes the choice easier.
This list covers both kinds, plus BOHO. It explains what each one actually is, so you can tell a consultant, an outsourced HR team and an administration service apart before you get on a call.
How we chose
- Real, operating firms that offer HR support to employers in Massachusetts, checked on their own websites.
- A mix of local Massachusetts consultancies and restaurant-only firms that work remotely.
- What each one says it does, in plain words. No pricing, ratings or client counts: they go stale, and a wrong one misrepresents somebody else's business.
- Each entry says who it suits and what to check before signing.

1.Back of House Ops (BOHO)
Restaurant HR administration and payroll coordination · Massachusetts
A Massachusetts restaurant HR administration and payroll coordination service. BOHO keeps onboarding files, personnel records, handbook maintenance and WOTC screening moving on a weekly cycle, and prepares each payroll for your approval. Your restaurant stays the employer and approves every run. It is priced as a flat monthly retainer with no per-employee fee (see pricing).
Best for: independent Massachusetts restaurants and small groups where HR paperwork has no owner, and the owner wants to keep making the employment decisions.
Not the right fit if: you want someone else to become the employer (that is a PEO), you want benefits bundled in, or you operate outside Massachusetts. BOHO is not a PEO, not the employer of record and not a law firm, and it serves Massachusetts restaurants only for now. The scope page lists what it does and does not do.
2.AIM HR Solutions
Employer association HR consulting · Massachusetts
The HR services arm connected to Associated Industries of Massachusetts. It offers outsourced and on-demand HR, HR consulting, compliance work such as I-9 audits and handbooks, and training. AIM also runs an HR helpline for its members.
Best for: Massachusetts owners who want HR answers grounded in state law from an established employer association.
Worth knowing: it serves employers of every kind rather than restaurants specifically, and the helpline is a members-only benefit.
3.Empowered Hospitality
Hospitality-only outsourced HR · New York, NY; works nationwide
An outsourced and fractional HR firm that works only with restaurants and hospitality businesses. Its site describes employee relations, compliance, payroll administration and recruiting support, delivered remotely.
Best for: operators who want an HR team that only works in hospitality and is used to tipped staff, split shifts and high turnover.
Worth knowing: it is based in New York and works remotely, so if you want someone who knows Massachusetts rules in depth, ask directly how they handle state-specific questions.
4.Restaurant HR Group
Restaurant-only HR outsourcing · Mount Prospect, IL; works nationwide
An HR outsourcing firm that serves only restaurants, from quick-service to fine dining, and describes HR, payroll, benefits administration and compliance support on its site.
Best for: restaurants that want HR and payroll handled together by a firm that does nothing but restaurants.
Worth knowing: it is based in Illinois, and handing it payroll means moving your payroll to it rather than keeping your current setup.
5.Melody L. Beach Consulting Group
Outsourced HR and HR projects · Southbridge, MA; also serves Rhode Island
Offers either a dedicated outsourced HR professional or project work: handbooks, compliance audits, interim HR and recruiting.
Best for: Central Massachusetts and Rhode Island businesses that want one named HR person they deal with every time.
Worth knowing: its site does not mention restaurants or hospitality, and it does not run payroll.
6.Ross Insight Solutions
Fractional HR · Greater Boston; MA and RI
Outsourced HR consulting for small and mid-size businesses in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, covering hiring, employee relations, compliance and total rewards.
Best for: small Boston-area businesses that need HR structure built without hiring an HR manager.
Worth knowing: not restaurant-specific, and payroll is not part of the offer.
7.Integrated Human Resources
HR consulting · Beverly, MA
A North Shore HR consultancy offering HR consulting, strategic guidance, and workshops and seminars for employers.
Best for: North Shore owners who want a local consultant they can meet.
Worth knowing: its site does not mention restaurants, and it is a consultancy rather than a payroll service.
How to choose between them
Decide which problem you actually have. If you need someone to answer hard questions now and then, a consultancy or an association helpline is the cheapest fit. If the recurring paperwork never gets done, you need a service that does that work every week. If you want someone else to carry the employer role, you need a PEO, and nothing on this list is one.
Then ask each shortlisted firm the same three questions: who prepares our payroll inputs each cycle, who keeps our personnel files, and who makes the call when something goes wrong. The answers tell you more than any feature list. Our HR vs PEO vs payroll software guide walks through the difference.

Want this running without you chasing it?
Your restaurant remains the employer of record and approves payroll and employment decisions. BOHO is not a PEO, a staffing agency, or legal counsel.
